Description

McCall’s M5388 done in a thrifted blue microsuede with a dragon embroidered on the yolk with red silk and gold metallic thread. A simple pattern but my first time stabilising seams with twill tape, my first time adding interfacing to a pattern in places not called for in the pattern instructions (yolk and upper back), first time adding freehand embroidery onto a pattern piece. Finished in time to wear to my daughter’s birthday party at the bug zoo – see tarantula in second picture.

Thanks, I think. The urban dictionary defines angly as a derogoratory term for a person of anglo-saxon descent, but somehow I don’t think that’s what you meant :). Thanks for commenting and I’m glad you like my dragon.

Thank you . I’m glad you like my dragon, and I’m liking microsuede more and more every time I work with it. It gathers well but doesn’t press easily

Thanks! Generally I do do things by halves, but I’m embracing the concept of using simpler projects to learn new techniques and practice getting a better fit. Oh it was a pretty great birthday for sure!
