I knew when I moved into my house 3 years ago that I didn’t want yellow dragon curtains up at my dining room windows, but I liked the idea of dragons so I kept them – and at last they’ve been reinvented into a dress that I have really enjoyed wearing.
I love this pattern – it’s forgiving, especially in a thick fabric like this, and flattering with the belt cinching the waist in. And the pockets are stylish and massive :-)
I didn’t bother with the lining so made facings (is that the right term?) for the armholes and neck. I found the top of the zip really tricky so I can’t raise my left arm while wearing it!
? Very thick yellow/gold curtain fabric with embroidered Oriental dragons.

Fantastic!! I have some old curtain fabric of a similar weight that my Mother in law gave me and i’ve been waiting just for something like this to make with it! Thanks for the inspiration – it looks great!

It’s great fabric – far better as a dress than curtains!

I like a lot of curtain and upholstry fabric; I think my entire winter wardrobe will be made out of heavy fabrics!

This is cute! I like the idea of glamor dragons – and that’s what you’ve got. The dress fits you nicely. The neck line is great. Facings (yes that is what they are called) and zips can be a trial at times. I think as long as you decline offers of Pilate’s classes while wearing this frock – you’ll be fine!

Damn – no pilates while wearing this dress? I’ll wear it all the time! Thanks for the comments x
