This embroidered symbol is the Chinese character that literally means DOUBLE HAPPINESS. Used in traditional Chinese weddings, its a meaningful way of wishing the newlywed couple happiness in their union.
I used red floss for the design because it is considered an auspicious and lucky colour, especially favored in weddings and celebrations!
The wooden hoop measures 5". The embroidery is sewn on canvas, and the back is covered up with a flowery cotton material.
