Description

This is pattern 124 from Burda Magasine January 2009. A vest is always easy to wear with many different outfits, it can be office appropriate as well as casual…
it is a simlple fitted vest, double-breasted with 4 buttons in the front and strap and buckle in the back.
The pattern was pretty straight forward and presented no major difficulty.
I added bound buttunholes for a neater finish and lined with a boldly-colored fabric. The pattern is a great “basic” to go back to and customize…

Material Notes

the outside shell is a wool/silk blend and the lining is polyester

I have been trying to track down this pattern for ever and I still can’t find a place that has it.

I love the pattern and how your version turned out! My favorite artist is Brandi Carlile and she wears a lot of vests :) Bound buttonholes, eh? Wow…I still need to try those. Did you have a tutorial that you used, or have you done them before?

Great waistcoat & fab lining! I’m sure I’ve got that issue of burda magazine, I’ll have to check it out – it’s always good to see different versions of the garments in the magazine to give you a better idea.

Thanks analogue ! This pattern could be easily overlooked as the picture from the magasine isn’t really my style, but the pattern itself is actually a great basic in my opinion…

I agree, I tend to check out the technical drawings of the garments in the magazine first because the pictures of the clothes on the models often aren’t very clear or they’re worn in a style I wouldn’t wear myself.

Stylish and nicely fitted. Those bound buttonholes are a very nice touch.
