Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I participated in the first UK meetup of The Sew Weekly, of which our theme was Red, White and Blue. I used V8615 to make this dress, which I had made before, seeing as I left it to the last minute ti make it.
The pattern itself is fairly simple. It’s a Very Easy Vogue pattern, but as I think a lot of us know, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. Luckily the pattern is quite straight forward. I didn’t have to do any fitting, and the pattern comes by size and cup size, which means you shouldn’t have to.
I chose to omit the sleeves, seeing as it’s coming up to summer in the UK and I wasn’t sure whether the fabric would be too stiff to have the long sleeves pictured on the envelope. Plus It probably would have polka dot over kill.
You might be able to see from the second and third pics that I chose to line the dress in red, which I love. You get quite a cheeky bit of red showing on the pockets when you use them. I also made a little red belt for the middle. All in all, I’m dead pleased with it.
