Dora, my three months old granddaughter, was also baptized last Sunday, together with her brother Bela. I made a gown for her and used BWF-pattern No.132 from magazine 8/2007. For the Overall I did not make any embellishments and skipped the organza-front . Instead of ruffles on the edges of sleeves and legs I enclosed them with taffeta-bias tape.
Then I added an organza-apron made from my daughters wedding-gown-scarf and embellished with little white lacy flowers. For that I used the same pattern I took for “Baby Dora’s Kimono-Style Dress” ( http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/baby-dora-s-kimono-style-dress ).
It’s cold here in October, so I sewed a little bolero and a bonnet made from knitted cotton-velvet.
Cotton-Batiste for the overall, Organza for the apron, knitted cotton-velvet (Nickystoff)

Absolutely wonderful! Looks as if Dora winks at us… she is soooo pretty in her Baptizing dress! :) You did a proffessional work out of love for Dora.

Every piece is so wonderful and matches together perfectly (including beautiful shoes) I guess, we all sew with love, but I can imagine with HOW MUCH love you made all this.

This is very sweet, as well as the suit! I love those cute little flowers on the sheer material

And this is so adorable too!!!! I love it and she will, when she’s older! I LOVE the Western (for me) tradition of keepsakes and this is definitely one fine example of it!
