My dog is an african breed and she naturally prefers warm weather. During winter time I have so far dressed her in a functional but dull coloured dog coat. I wanted to live up our walks with a happier colour so I copied the earlier bought dog coat and made this. I used beaver nylon fabric and lined it with fleece fabric. The fleece fabric was a cheap blanket from IKEA. The collar lining is a bit more exclusive ;) I´ts a quilt embroided piece I had in my stash. It was fun making it and I am very pleased with the result.

hello so good to see such a lovely coat for a large breed….we have nothing against small breeds in coats just that we are all large and we like to see that you can achieve such great results for a bigger dog too. looks like she’ll stay very warm!

Thanks! She stays warm and dry and can still run like crazy and roll in the snow :) You’re right,it’s more common whith clothing for small dogs, and much easier to find in shops as well. This coat is not too cute wich suits me (and my dog)well.
