I made this dress last spring when I desperately needed more flowers in my life. Now we just happen to live in an area where there are an abundance of flowers in early spring, and they are SO YELLOW! I insist on wearing this every time I walk in them… It is the best kind of camo (and probably the only kind I’ll ever wear!!) I modeled this after a dress I saw in store that was completely out of my price range. I found an itty bitty picture of the dress in a catalogue and used it (or at least as much of it as I cold see) for inspiration. I love the neckline of the dress, initially I wanted to embroider on it with white thread, but I think the lines of it make it stand out enough. The buttons are my favorite color that I just had to incorporate somehow… Oh how I love buttons!!!
My main dress fabric was found in the basement of my in-laws wrapped around a TV... although formerly a sheet I sensed that it saw itself as something more (since it draped itself very stylishly over that TV) and I couldn't rest until I turned it into something I could wear! (hmmm... I wonder if I ever washed it?...hmmm) The only bad thing about wearing other people's sheets is when they (my brother in law) come up to you and say, "wow! great dress. I can't place it, but I think I've seen that fabric before..." : ) The lining is organic unbleached cotton.
Thanks for letting me wear your old sheet
for taking these pictures!

A lot of what I make are from old sheets, too :) They’re so cheap at the thrift store! I love the neckline on this dress :)
I featured this dress on my blog!

I, too, love the neckline. I think the whole dress is quite lovely, especially in the fabric you’ve selected. I love how you paired it with aqua green. The combination is really nice.

Really like your dress. And your pictures! Looks like you were having a great time doing them :-) Guess I’d better get my bf to take mine, as soon as I get some outfits done. Normally I’m a “Glamour-Goth” kinda girl, but I really like the yellow flowers and the way the dress fits you! Makes me happy :-) And buttons? I adore buttons ;-)
