This is the Eva blazer I made for my mom, she wanted a new blazer because her other knit blazer is getting old and picked. Unfortunately it wasn’t the easiest fabric to work with with this particular project, especially because I altered the pattern a bit and added a lining which caused me a lot of problems. I picked out some cool wooden buttons but my mom said she’d prefer plain black boring ones, but my machine’s buttonholer wasn’t working properly (especially with this fabric…) so I ended up sewing the buttons on and giving it snap closure. I’m not happy with this project as I don’t think it lays right among other things. I told her I don’t really expect her to ever wear it but I guess she doesn’t think it’s that bad.
Anyways, here it is.

Your mom is happy with it and you’’ve learnt a few things along the way. So don’t be too hard on yourself. The collar sits nicely and I think that’s one of the hardest parts to get right in a jacket.

I think it looks pretty good! Yeah, not perfect, and it didn’t turn out exactly how you wanted it to, but it still looks very classy! Makes me want to try one, so that’s a plus. As long as your mom likes it, everything’s good, right? And just think of how easy the next one is going to be, after everything you learned doing this one. :)
