This was my first time dyeing anything and it was really fun. I want to dye everything now! I bought the white fabric on the market really cheap. I was with my cousin and we thought if we buy 4 meters it will be plenty to make a dress each. Part of it was a little stained so the seller gave us the rest of the role – about 6 meters – at home we discovered it was also folded double! So we ended up with like a square kilometre haha. All the more dyeing to be done :)
We used this pattern for my cousin’s dress and I tried her’s on and liked it so I made this one for me.

You’ve inspired me to try dip dye again. My first attempt did not work out so well.

I love how you have dip dye it from the top, the obvious way is to do it from the bottom. love it. I have been messing around with some tie dye myself lately, might give this version a try if u don’t mind xXx

The fabric looks realy silky did you use the same material for the cross strap bit?

The top part of the dress is one kind of material and the skirt is a different, I think. This was not done on purpose, but like I said, the fabric was stained on a part so I used a different bit of it for the skirt and I think it was actually a different type… I’m not sure. But it is kind of strange, sometimes it looks silky and sometimes quite matt.. I like it anyway :) A happy accident!

Gorgeous – I really like the way you’ve made up this pattern with very subtle crossovers rather than really contrasting, love the dip dying as well!
