Burda Style For people who sew

I had been wanting a new work bag but didn’t want to spend money buying one. My husband bought several pairs of nasty cheap jeans earlier this year. They ripped at the knees all at once – not a good look for a 47-year-old office worker. I patched them up once but no more! The first pair to rip again got cut up to make the bag, along with some scraps I’ve been hanging on to for years. I added a drawstring top to sit under the cover for greater security. The family was sceptical that the materials would stand much wear and tear but I took it on holiday to Japan and it survived, stuffed full with my usual junk, plus camera, empty coffee cans (when entering museums) and the odd souvenir! Material Notes

Worn-out jeans, hessian for flap and strap, polypop lining, cord for drawstring.
