I so love black and white prints that when I saw this fabric I knew I wanted it. What to make was the obvious question?? I knew I wanted a wearable simple, stylish dress because the fabric by itself is pretty nice and really don’t need much. I so love this fabric it has pattern of diamonds and circles overlaid into several layers hence the name of the project.
After carefully consideration of the best way to use the fabric…This is what I design and constructed. It is a close fitting straight lined dress that has extended shoulders , midriff , back invisible zipper, a sexy back with a little arts work design using the diamond shape in the fabric. There is a knot at the upper back neckline forming several pleats.
To make the art work I cut out the diamonds, rolled hem the edges and formed them into a design. I really had no idea how it would turned out but I am very pleased with the result.
1 1/2 yd linen
1 1/2 yd taffeta lining
16" invisible zipper
