Replica of a lace print dress from the D&G Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The dress is made out of heavy black guipure lace over off white silk duchess satin, and fully lined in silk charmeuse. My sister-in-law doesn’t want to wear a petticoat, but still wants the fullness, so I underlined the dress in silk organza and added horse hair tape to the hem. I cut the lace to create the scalloped bottom. In order to make the lace look like it’s part of the satin material, I hand appliqued the whole scalloped edge and hand tacked the lace throughout the whole bodice and skirt.
Black silk guipure lace, silk duchess satin, silk organza, silk charmeuse, horse hair tape.
