My husband has this maroon pair of sweatpants from 1991 when he was in the army, that he still wears, even though the lining really starts to show its age. so in 2008 I made a paid of maroon Quantex sweatpants for us both, but I washed mine a lot, since I wore it lots more. the down side was, it had no pockets. in 2011 I bought navy Quantex and decided to copy this Army sweatpants with pockets and all. I even digitized a logo and embroidered that on a pair for me and him. Then last year my husband was on a roadtrip and while taking a shower, he dressed in the clean clothing, and forgot his sweatpants etc on the back of the door. (donating the clothing to the lucky person who found it). so I promised him i’ll make him another maroon pair, that will even be better. so the past 3 days, I cut out, and digitized a new logo. I made a black pair for us both as well as the Maroon replacer. they are very comfortable and ready for winter weather!
Simplicity 7854 , added pockets, shortered the crotch and lengthened the legs. elastic in the legs for the mens as well as a pull rope and elastic in the waistband. added a lining.
