After a two-year sewing break, I wanted to make myself another Sadie top for this summer. However, I had no (jersey) material to sew with. I did however have a box full of old denim jeans that no longer fitted me.
I cut down the seams of the legs and was left with long strips of denim. I then overlocked these into a patchwork of denim material. I topstitched the seams to neaten them. Once I made material wide enough, I cut out the Sadie pattern (size 38, now a bit too small!) and sewed the top together.
I would have liked to sew in a lining because the overlocked edges are itchy. However if I wear the top over a plain black tshirt its perfectly comfortable.
Recycled denim, synthetic black weave for armholes and neckline.
