Thank you! Yes, I enjoyed upcycling a lot.
For the sole, I used a slip-proof mat, or sheet, to be used between wooden floor and a carpet. I found it DIY shop and it works very well!!

In fact, I had to do a little thing to finish this product, but I enjoyed it.
The pattern is from a Japanese design book, but I found a similar design at http://ithinksew.com. I believe it will help you with detailed instruction. Hope this will help you.
