Description

I tried out the Ruby shorts pattern with some stretchy dark denim. I tried lengthening the pattern a couple inches to see if the fit was better, and I was hoping to get a high-waisted look also. I like how they ended up fitting – I think they look kind of retro if I wear them with a shirt tucked in. I used a bunch of white buttons that all have different textures on them for some extra detail. This was a bit more challenging pattern for me but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

    Hi this is exactly what i’m looking for – Ruby but high waisted! could you just let me know how you lengthened them to make them more high waisted.. is it just lengthening the parts above the crotch? They look fantastic.

    =) if you could help that would be amazing! i’m finishing off something else right now but i’ve already got my ruby fabric >> very keen

      Sure, it was actually really easy because I just used the “lengthen or shorten here” lines included on the pattern. And you’re right the lines run just above the crotch part of the pattern. I lengthened my pattern by 2 inches. Good luck with your shorts!

      Hi just an update, i’ve now made my Rubys and LOVE THEM :) thanks for the help it made me that much more confident in attempting my own.
