Where would you wear this dress? A Jane Austen Fan Club Singles Mixer? The after-party for a community theatre production of Legally Blond 3: Elle’s Madcap Medieval Adventures? I told my husband that it looked like something Zooey Deschanel would wear to a Ren Fair and he suggested we get a giant turkey leg for the photo shoot. We opted for the ukelele instead.
I used Burdastyle.com’s Danielle pattern for this dress. I lengthened the sleeves, and cut about 5 1/2 inches off the hem. I also made some pattern adjustments to the back bodice and then forgot to make sure my darts were lined up with the skirt darts in the back. Whoops! Hopefully my friends at Barbie’s Renaissance Wonderland don’t notice!

The dress down idea is really cool! I like the way you shortened the hem. Maybe I should rerun this pattern myself… Have a wonderful xmas!

I would wear it dressed down (with leggings, boots, shoulder bag, scarf and simple jewelry) for everyday use (school, family dinners, etc) and dressed up (with fancy stockings, stilettoes, clutch and fancy jewelry) for special occasions (parties, dates, to the theater, etc). LOVE the color, and the Danielle has always been a favourite!
