This is a really fun dress, did you use a pattern? If so are you willing to share it? :)
Thanks!

im sorry no, i didnt use a pattern. but it is really really easy. just make the straps so they fit you and add a rectangle for the dress part, gathering it together a litte in the front, and then another rectangle with pleats for the lower part (or ruffles or whatever you want)
i hope this is of any help

if you’re looking for a pattern that is exactly the same, check out the book chic and simple sewing which has a dress pattern that is identical. i’ve made one and it’s a piece of cake for a beginner! the author has images here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/venicegirl/2271803582/in/pool-chicandsimplesewing

So cute! I really love it. Do you think it could be simple enough for me? I would like to try with a fabric similar to the one you’ve used!

I love this! I’m somewhat of a novice, so I don’t know how successfully I’d be able to make this but I really want to try. Is there any chance you would be able to provide more detailed instructions? :P Also, did you do a lining? If so, what kind of fabric would you suggest?

did you read a comment of mine below? i described a little how to do it.. does it help?

I did have a read, makes a bit more sense to me now. Wasn’t too sure with the body how to go about it, I think the gathering at the top (at the band around the bust) is going to be my biggest challenge! :)

no i didnt. it was really easy though. just measure a string around your bust, add strings for the strips and for the lower part two tubes with pleats if you like. for the sleeves i just drew a half circle in the lenght of the strips.
