I feel pretty darn cute in this dress.
I made it from two daffodil pillowcases I bought at Goodwill. The pillowcases were a matching pair except that the flowers on one were quite faded. I dyed the non-faded one a brighter yellow to make a two-tone dress. They were also very thin so I lined the dress with a third pillowcase and muslin.
This pattern is delightfully simple. It took me much longer than it should have because I had limited fabric (I was nervous about making a cutting error and not being able to finish) and because I lined it. I had never lined anything before and it took me longer to figure out than anticipated (as everything sewing-related does).
Again, I followed Grosgrain’s “A Frock by Friday” instructions.

What a beautiful dress! I am all about the recycled fabric. Nicely done. I am flattered to see you love your necklace. I’ll be keeping an eye on your creations as I need a kick in the pants to sew this summer.

Oh the yellow is so cheerful and lovely – your recycling is so resourceful – I never would have imagined that you could get enough fabric from a pillow case for a dress!
