This bag started life as a flat, rectangular tote bag. I always loved the pattern and the colours but didn’t like the shape. I couldn’t do anything about it until now (since discovering Burda Style!) I added two pleats on each side and made the bag more rounded. I like the way the pleats give the bag volume (and the ability to carry all my stuff!) I also added a lining, an inside mobile phone pocket, an inside zippered pocket and a zipper closure. The dimensions are L26cms x W33cms.
Recycled bag, brown material for lining and two zips

That’s such a cool idea! My mum has that bag too, though now yours is unique and way nicer.
