I used the celestina pattern for this dress. Lengthened the ties so that they could wrap around the front and shorted the sleeves to cap length. I still think this dress is a bit frumpy. But maybe still a bit cute at the same time? Because the fabric is the most beautiful Japanese cotton sateen that i have seen. The pictures really don’t do it justice.

Cute and a bit frumpy can definately go together! And it does in this case. If you want to spice it up a bit, try a contrasting belt (OK, that would require doing something about the ties) and be glad you changed the sleeves: with the long ones, the dress would have been really frumpy.
