I finally made a custom dress form yesterday, using the duct tape and t-shirt method. To top it off, I used a draping technique to create a cover using a lightweight ribbed knit. The process was very easy and straightforward. For a stand, I’m thinking of using PVC pieces.
Close-fitting t-shirt, 2 rolls of duct tape, old scissors, cardboard scraps (for openings), 2 bags of polyester fiberfill, thread, and 1 yard of black rib knit fabric.

I’m going to have to try this, as I am not a standard dress size, but I don’t know anyone who is! :)

I have been hesitant about making my own duct tape form since they are so ugly, what a great solution! I cannot do any longer than I must with my store bought form (except that I bought it extremely cheap on craigslist)

OMG, I can’t believe that homemade dressform would come out this good. May I ask who was your helper? Very good hand indeed. (and you have perfect body)
