Brooklyn, New Yo...
I was honored to create a custom wedding dress this summer. The bride is half Irish and half Turkish and wanted something with a feeling to reflect her cultural background.
She requested gold crystal trim rather than the standard bridal trim only made in silvery pewter and crystal. For this gown, I would need to make the crystal beaded trim completely by hand.
I began by drawing out the pattern on paper and transferring it to a net tulle. After the bead work was complete, I attached it to a gold lace.
I drafted the dress pattern and mostly hand stitched the gown that was made out of silk crepe and chiffon.
