I made this skirt a couple of years ago in the long version with a straight waistband, in a rust pinstripe velveteen sort of fabric. This weekend I decided to make it again, but change it up with the shorter hem length, curved waistband, and denim fabric. It was my first time using sew-in interfacing, and I don’t want to go back to fusible! Again, I had to double the darts on the front and back, then use a smaller size for the waste – hips ;) A little trickier with the curved band, and it’s not perfectly snug, but I still like it.

Thanks, DB! I still wish I had adjusted the waistband a bit more so it’s more snug. But it’s good to feel comfortable, too ;)

Comfort… especially for the food babies that occur!
Me and friends call that bloated feeling you get after eating when you can’t suck in anymore…a food baby… Sometimes, it’s twins… ;op

Haha!!! I’m totally using that…food babies! (I think I marked it inappropriate by mistake when trying to reply. It’s waaaay too appropriate!)

Oh, I’ve done that so many times… and I feel so bad, cos I’m just trying to reply and there doesn’t seem to be an undo!
And I feel awful cos I first thought that it was me reporting that person to Burdastyle, but it seems that the comment remains as it is, which the statement of inappropriate-ness. :o)
