I made this kitchen curtain from a bed valance I bought in a charity shop for £1. I just needed a basic curtain for my kitchen in the property I’m renting (so didn’t want to splash out a lot!). I cut off two of the ruffled sides and sewed them above the bottom set of ruffles. I then ended up with three tiers of ruffles and the top ruffle I folded over to loop over the spring wire above the window. I just push it to the side when it’s open and I have a tie to the left that I wrap around to keep the curtain to the side during the day.

Thanks littlewren! It’s really quick to do to. I didn’t think until after I could have done a ‘how to’ with pics, so hopefully my summary above gives you an idea! I’m sure you’ll figure it out if you find a bargain valance somewhere!
