Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I’ve talked for ages about throwing a cup-cake party, but I never got the dress finished… Well, deadlines are what works for me apparently! This only took me two days, and the occasion (deadline) was my birthday! I invited my great girlfriends over for cup-cakes and coffee, and the cup-cake dress felt perfect! The pattern is as usual based my own basic block from the course I did at London College of Fashion last year. I cut a 3/4 circle skirt with pockets, and chose to make a front seam and straight grain in the middle of each panel in order to avoid strange looking pattern (like my amanita dress). All I need now is a petticoat!

this is great! i’m thinking about making a cupcake-dress about months but i thought maybe it’s a little bit too much. But when i look at your dress, it makes me want one for myself, especially for serving cupcakes ;)

Grattis med dagen, på etterskudd… :) Elsker kjolen din, både snitt og stoff! Det grønne stoffet gjorde virkelig susen, tar kjolen opp et stort hakk, det er sikkert! :) Ditt bursdagsbord var også kjempefint, du minte meg på at jeg bruker arveserviset mitt altfor sjeldent!!! De gamle koppene virkelig gjør bordet!!! Og nå fikk jeg såååå lyst på muffins… Mmmm…. :)

Så fantastisk kjole og gratulerer så mye med vel overstått! Og har du foret hele overdelen? Men det skjørtet, det er rundskåret, men ikke en hel sirkel.. så det er to 3/4 sirkler satt sammen til en? Nei. Ser ikke hvor sømmene i skjørtet er ut fra bildene og hvordan får du muffinsene til å være i lik høyde hele veien rundt? Flott jobb, og du har ikke vurdert å tjene litt penger på sømmen din i Bergen? Jeg tror du kunne tjent gode penger hvis du ikke allerede gjør det!

OioiOI! Takk skal du ha for fine ting du sier! Overdelen er ikke foret, bare med belegg. Og skjørtet er en 3/4 sirkel ja. Søm midt foran/midt bak og i sidene. Hm. Jeg tror jeg kan lage en enkel tutorial på dette, for særlig komplisert er det ikke. Og penger på søm? Skumle greier… Terskelen for å bli fornøyd er så mye høyere når jeg syr til andre… og ingen har lagt inn bud!

Oh, thanks… I know it’s been such a long time since last creation (I’m glad that was the flamingo shirt!), but I do have some unfinished (less fun) objects lying around. Hope to finish them during a couple of weeks!

Tillader mig lige at skrive på dansk ;-) Hvor er den bare helt vidunderlig, din kjole! Hvor har du fundet stoffet? Danmark er bare SÅ dødt lige nu, når det kommer til stof, men det koster jo ikke det vilde, at få ting sendt ned fra Norge :-)

Tak ;-) Foruden stof og stil, er der stof2000.dk og fjoelner.dk. Den sidste er måske lidt dyrere, men de har alle mulige sjove og fine ting, så måske det lige er noget? Ellers er det også så som så med udvalget i DK. Er heldig, at jeg skal til London engang over sommeren. Der skal hentes inspiration og handles stof i store mængder :-)

London har noen veldig gode stoffbutikker! Om du ikke kjenner London så godt, må du bare spørre/sjekke bloggen min! Jeg har gode tips, for jeg reiser til London 1-2 ganger om året!

I love the dress, what a sweet classic look. I looked at the pictures of the eatable ones and I could literally smell butter-cream…mmm..cupcakes. I bet they were great! And what a fun idea for a party!
