Description

I found this culottes pattern very interesting – it’s like a wide skirt :) I have used viscose print and I think it was the right choose. I hand stitched it at the hem for the best result. The top is based on pattern #0010 Burda Special 5/2013. I decorated the neck with a ribbon with sequins to make it more interesting. I have used transparent chiffon with stretch – and I’m happy with the outcome :)

Material Notes

Viscose with print and chiffon with stretch.

i really love those culottes on you! I just had the idea to lenghten them to make a wide leg pants, like a palazzo! i’ll use a lightweight fabric like you did for a best result! good job!

Great outfit! The top is perfect for bringing the culottes into this ‘time zone’. I used to love wearing culottes and still have several patterns for them. I played the clarinet, so they were easier to wear than a long skirt!!! I hope you are going to enter the new contest???? From what I read, you were featured, Congrats!!!

Thanks a lot Deanna! I couldn’t wait until I received my issue so I bought it when we were travelling.. ps. you have to check out the pattern while drawing it because it didn’t fit on both sides (it’s the first time ever with a BS pattern) Good luck! :)

Wow! What an outfit! I remember culottes in the eighties but I don’t remember them looking this good. I imagine fabric has moved on a lot since then.

totally awesome combination, Ellen! i don’t normally like animal print, but the snake print works so good in these culottes! and that sheer top is just fabulous, especially the sequins detail. the whole look is so editorial, it could (and should) be in a fashion magazine! ;)

big congratulations for the Member of the Week Project!

OMG Ellen! This is awesome. When I saw the cullottes in the magazine I thought oh no, I’m not even considering this (mainly because cullottes don’t look good on my body type), but seeing yours I have to find a way to make it work for me :)

Nice and comfortable! A good choice both for work and rest. I like this pattern, too. The fabric makes so soft fitting. The colour is very universal, very attractive outfit. To talk about the tops is just a waste of time – everybody knows you are great in that :-)))

Ellen this is a beautiful outfit. I had my eye on these cullottes but I think an unpleated front would suit me better. The top is gorgeous, I love the sheer look and the sequin neckline is a lovely addition. Great photos as well. You are sewing up a storm z
