I went fabric shopping with friends, and saw a white velour (like velvet) and decided a dress would be nice. so I bought 3meters. looked on the internet for ideas, since long sleeves on dresses mostly puts me off. I found this gorgeous dress, and asked my friend if she has a similar pattern that I can maybe make into a dress. She had this NewLook 6470 and I decided to combine that. I tested the pattern in a white trilobal, but had to fix a lot of mistakes. then decided I won’t make the dress in the white velour anymore, since I found a dark green/grey/black mixed up colours velour. I tested the top in the velour, and decided if that is 100% I can proceed to the dress. but for some reason I disliked it. maybe it was the white. again I fixed more mistakes, lowered the armholes, since that pattern was intended for sleeveless. I made the top in my dark colours yesterday and after I was happy with it, I went on to make the dress. still something I am not 100% happy with, not sure what it is? maybe the dress is slightly to loose around the waist, now makes me think of a 1950’s dress. any suggestions? I want to wear it with this ancle boots, so can’t really shorten the dress.
