Description

When I see purses in the store I am often left unsatisfied because they either look great but lack practical features that I want or they lack style but include good practical features. This led me to make my own purse. I made it with a cross body strap so I don’t have to worry about it slipping off my shoulder. I also added plenty of pockets to meet my needs. The fabric choices also make me really pleased with the overall look because they outside is neutral enough to match many outfits and the lining provides a bit of color and style.

Cotton twill outer fabric
quilting cotton lining
fusible interfacing

Vodkiss, thanks for the compliment. To make this purse, I actually just modified a free online pattern. I widened it from the center by about one inch, lengthened the strap, and added all the pockets I wanted. Here’s the link: http://artsycraftybabe.typepad.com/tutorials/phoebe_bag.pdf

A very cute purse. I personally love the cross body style. I hate purses slipping down my arms (a pet peeve of mine!). Nice job.
