Great hat for the fall or winter. I chose a thick yarn for warmth and larger crochet stitches.
Start out much like you are making a doily until you reach a 10 inch diameter or more depending on the hat size you desire. Then crochet inward until there is about a 3 inch diameter circle remaining for the opening. Crochet inward by doing the opposite of creating the doily shape which will create less chains to towards the center.
