Description
After seeing the fruit fabric from Prada and Stella McCartney I had to make something. It was really hard to find fruit print fabric, but I found this on sale at Joanns and thought it was super perfect to make this shirt.I made this blouse awhile ago, but was waiting to get better pics, but no luck. Instead of making slouchy I wanted to make it very crisp and clean. I made a few mistakes with the pattern but it worked in my favor. I added a bound sleeve so when it was folded it wouldn’t show the seams. I didn’t add seam allowances (I forgot), but it fits perfect. I took about 3" off or so off the bottom, even though the length wasn’t that bad. I added a single welt pocket to the L front and used miss matched plaid and fruit buttons. I followed wzrdreams directions for step #7. I added small felt pieces behind the buttons (not quite sure why but I’ve seen it on some expensive clothes before).
I paired it with a black and white striped stretchy skirt I made. I also paired it with some dark wide legged blue jeans and the staw fedora is a must!! I really wanted better pics like always, but no one to take them. Perfect backdrop would be all greenery like a fruit tree or in an orchard.

Love the mix-n-match with the buttons. And the lemon/lime print takes me back to the summer I spent soaking the sun in Crete. Looks exceedingly well made. Very luxurious and summery all in one. Kudos! But yeah, about the felt on the back side of the buttons, I have a jacket like that (except with simpler buttons instead of felt). Never really considered why it was necessary, but it has a professional feel about it.
