This is a variation of Anda, I altered the top portion to have a low V and shorter shoulders and sewed the skirt on separately (harder than I thought). I used elastic rather than a drawstring. I also lined the bodice as the fabric is somewhat sheer. Oh yeah, and that’s a cami underneath because it’s a bit too low.
blue crinkle knit from Walmart ($0.50/yd!), elastic

Thank you! I might be able to do a “how to” in a while. Right now I’ve got some other stuff going on. But, really you just have to alter the top portion of the dress – take the shoulders in (I think about 1.5"), and cut down from the shoulders for the V. I did it in two separate pieces for the front and then overlapped. You also have to make sure the shoulders on the back and front pieces are the same width at the seam allowance. I cut the skirt separately and once the entire bodice was put together, attached the skirt, and then did the elastic as it says in the pattern (over the skirt seam). If you need clarification let me know!
