Description

I made this using a sweet princess seamed sleeved top pattern from the 50’s (McCalls 6130) – it was a perfect mix to try out the ;wearability’ of crewel embroidery. I love linen but had always been annoyed by its tendency to crinkle and wrinkle. After seeing Marina’s couture linen burda dress and hearing about how she underlined it in silk organza to minimise the wrinkle factor, I had to try! And yes – it works a treat :)

This is also lovely Melanie and thank-you for the tip about underlining linen. Linen is one of my favourite fabrics and perfect for Brisbane, so I will give underling a shot. I love your embroidery also.
