Craftsy Draped Dress

Added Jun 1, 2013

by Tallulah Twirl

Manchester, Unit...

First attempt at draping, using the Paul Gallo ’ Fashion Draping: Dressmaking Basics’ course on Craftsy.

Material Notes

Ah, the wonderful Ikea. Probably furnishing fabric. Realistically a little heavy-duty for a summer frock but nice and structured to work with.

Garment Type
Classic, Vintage
Cotton, Blends, Other

Nice dress and good fit. I love the pink belt’s touch. It really brings out the beauty of the fabric.

Thank you! Yes, it’s just a bit blah without a splash of something, I think. I’m not good at understated.

Aw, thank you, Martin! I didn’t use a book, it’s an online course – you should be able to track it down here, if you’re interested:
It’s really excellent. Paul is a very calm teacher and makes it all (fairly!) straightforward. Hugely recommended if you’re interested in draping.
