Description

Usually when a couple moves into a house together, if there is a spare room it is turned into a man cave full of cars, or bikes, or tools, whatever. Although this time I am lucky enough to not be able to take over just one wall, but the whole room! This is my craft cave , and it is so fun! Finally am able to organize patterns, fabric, paint, stencils, yarn, and the ridiculous array of random supplies I have accumulated…complete with Jack Sparrow bobble head for design support. Also since taking illustration courses, drawing out what I’d like to make is getting much easier! This really helps me focus when it comes to sewing A.D.D. For now I work a lot to support this cave, so must enjoy the time spent working in it while it happens, so maybe someday when I am sewing for a living this will be a craft studio/cave.

I love your cave! It’s very well designed and organised, and I’m sure you’ll create lots of beauty there!

I´m jealous, because I only have a corner with a table in the living room… I wish I had something like this, because I paint too :).

Woo hoo! I love it! I recently just got my own sewing cave, although I will only have it until January… then it turns into a baby cave!

It feels great doesn’t it? I’m sitting in my very own brand new craft cave too! My guy likes to hang out with me in here while I make stuff. Shacking up is the best thing that ever happened to my sewing machines.

Yes! Sean tends to just stand around behind me, watching me pin things and ask what I’m doing, so I brought another chair in for him to roll around with.

Lucky you! My sewing space has always been in a room with other purposes (bathroom—it was huge for a bathroom and the only room in the house big enough to accommodate my sewing equipment, piano, “library”)

My craft cave is also his closet (because I get the bigger bedroom closet). We also have a twin bed in there for guests.

One drawer is all paper supplies for tags, stencils and such. The next is mostly patterns from this site and some I have drafted, and the bottom is full of old lace which I don’t know what to use for yet! Also the small thing is fabric paint, feathers, glues (cause I have so many?), and stamps. Thank you!
