thanks everyone. i made the pattern for these by drawing diagonal lines from waist seam to side seam on my basic pant sloper. i then slashed up to the waist point, spread the pattern upward, and taped in place. the diagonal slash lines determine where the cowls fall, and the height i raise the slashed part determines the depth of the cowl. i will try to take pictures and upload a how-to :)
