Description

I’m in love with the cover stitch and with my new 5 thread serger machine. I can’t believe the convenience it offers, the time it saves, and how easy it makes so many tasks. I’m becoming fluent in differential feed and all the new features packed into this one machine, like the elastic foot, shirring foot, and more. When you enjoy something this much, you want to tell everyone. So I have. If you’re in the market for a new serger or just want to know what newer sergers have to offer, click on “Serger” in credits below and read about my “dream machine”.

Thanks for your respond. What I meant about the needles, that 2022 is for woven fabrics, it’s not even universal which would be good for knit fabrics as well. I have ordered ball point needles for this serger, but It hasn’t arrived yet. I’ve found all this out after I’ve posted my first comment. I’ll let you know if these ball point serger needles work well. By the way I follow you on Pinterest, love your tutorials. Also, English is my second language , so it happens that I don’t express myself clearly , I’ll try my best.

I have the same serger, and I love it. I still have to try out all the other feet that came with it. I always wanted to ask somebody about the needle for this serger. According to the book only should use singer 2022 / I think this is the right #/ but this only comes in universal. Is there stretch needle for this machine ? Once in a while it skips a stitch when I cover stitch. I used brand new needles.

It’s great to find someone else with the same machine! I’ve only used the 2022. I bought a whole supply of them at a great price online. I have had the skipped stitch problem a couple of times and I would just rethread everything and put in a new needle and that seemed to take care of it. Sometimes changing the stitch length for me seemed to make a difference. Also using identical thread for the top stitching. I hope you find a solution for your problem. I didn’t understand “but this only comes in universal” .

Sadly i have no money for a new sewing machine and I really would love to have a machine, which makes sewing easier and faster… The one I have is just a simple one and from my boyfriends parents. They would not understand, that i want a new one, especially because its only 3 1/2 years old! But there are many things, which always make me complaining while sewing! I’m glad for you too!

My first sewing machine came from a generous neighbor who saw a little 10 year old girl from a poor family hand-stitching doll clothes. She bought a new machine for herself and gave me her old one. It was one of the biggest and most meaningful gifts I ever received. I’ve always remembered that and have passed on my old machines to people who might appreciate them. I did the same with my older serger and now a woman from the local fabric store who never could afford a serger is enjoying what I would call an outdated machine. But it’s all perspective isn’t it? She appreciated it so much.

Ooooh, you inspire me to try all the fancy feet that came with my overlock machine. I never did… I don’t have the same one as you do, I’ve got a Baby Lock Evolve, but they seem to be slightly related, and I could second you in that it too is a dream machine. Dream machines for all seamstresses :-)

Investigate those fancy feet! You’ll be surprised at what you can do with them. I know someone with a Baby Lock serger who couldn’t live without it.

My husband recently bought me a new overlocker (serger in the US) for my 30th birthday as a special treat! Anyway he had it in the house for two weeks before my birthday – it was torture seeing the box and not being able to rip it open and get sewing! A few weeks in and I’ve mastered a number of stitches and I am also in love with my dream machine! Turning 30 didn’t seem so bad thanks to my new Singer!

I can’t buy a new machine at the moment but I totally understand your excitement. I’m saving for a dummy these months… :)
