This jacket was made for a girl who works at the coffee shop at my school. She liked my City Jacket and asked me to make her one in grey wool with the addition of a hood. I worked and worked and completed it in record time. It is the most flawless project I’ve ever made! Unfortunately, when she tried it on after I was finished, she didn’t like the pleat at the back and found the arms slightly too short for her liking. Needless to say, I was VERY sad. So there went my brief foray into selling my sewing. I’m thinking of putting it up on Etsy because I simply don’t need another winter jacket and I spent quite a lot of money on the thick wool and nice buttons. My husband helped me add snaps to the front of the jacket and to the hood…they give the jacket a really neat casual and eclectic look similar to the All The Mixin’s Jacket from Modcloth. The snaps make the hood removable and the front quick to do up (no trying to squeeze buttons through buttonholes in heavy fabric). Based on Very Easy Vogue pattern V8626.
Thick wool (really nice!), lining (some sort of flowing polyester) and awesome buttons!

Clearly she doesn’t know quality and fashion when presented to her – I would LOVE a jacket like that! Does she even know what wool costs??!! I hope you get your money worth!

it looks really great. Could you do some alterations on it to make it to her liking? i’m working on this jacket now for me and discovering the pattern sizing runs large…it’s a bit too roomy for my liking so far, but we shall see…
