I made this dress from a beautiful cotton lawn fabric. I was introduced to cotton lawn when working on Azalea dress pattern. I love it. Its light and delicate and slightly sheer. It usually has to be lined. Anyway. I drafted this dress by trial and error. Truth be told, its a bit blousy on top which I try to correct by adding darts. I also wanted nice, wide straps. I hate when my bra shows. Anyways, the larger straps looked a bit clunky attached to the dress so that is when my handy dandy crochet needle came to the rescue. I added that tiny little bit of crocheted trim and I did the trick. Prairie dress is the final product,I think.

Oh, I love this. I think I’m going to try making a maternity version of this dress for myself.
