This is my second Danielle, and I really must recommend this pattern to everyone! It’s quick to make, fits me perfectly without any extra effort and is very simple to alter. For this one I changed the front and back necklines to a V-shape, used a button-up closure at the centre back instead of a zipper and made the skirt from two big, gathered rectangles.

A beautiful, drapey cotton. I splurged a little (that's right, it's not Spotlight fabric for once) because it was for a wedding. And I know I will be wearing this dress a lot!

How much fabric did this take to make? How big did you cut the skirt rectangles? Thanks! :)

Hi waveney!
I bought 2.5m of 115cm wide fabric. I always buy too much in case I make a mistake, so there’s still a bit left over :)
The front panel is 60 cm x 115 cm. The length (60 cm) is however long you wish the skirt to fall – mine sits just on my kneecap.
The two back panels are 60 cm x 57 cm (half the width of the front panel).
This makes a fairly full, gathered skirt. Just reduce the width of each panel if you want a less fussy skirt! Hope that made sense :)
