This was an encharge made it by the Chilean Choreographer Carmen Beuchat for her last piece “Especie Sola” (premiered in Decembre 2010).
I’m part in her company of contemporary dance as dancer and also as designer.
My challenge was how to make her ideas practical, to move a lot, in a comfortable costume, seems heavy but is not. The upper body looks more like a dance costume, more traditional, but I work specially in the details to the back based in an old shirt I have, to make visible the movement of the shoulders and arms.
I also made another practical, but not less important desition, work with a fabric textured to don’t have the needed to ironed. This is an important subject when you are on tour!
