I was excited to see a yoga pant pattern on Burda, I had to make them! I widened the leg to 24" circumference at the ankle. I also made the buttonholes for the drawstring on the inside of the waist yoke instead of outside, for career-work-wear rather than work-out wear. Because I am 5’7" and Burda patterns are for 5’6", I added 1/2" length to the hip and 1/2" to the leg. Otherwise, I made the pattern as-is. I love the comfort and fit, sizing for this pattern is right on! (I especially appreciate the smooth fit at the hip and crotch…no camel toe!)
I made these pants in one afternoon. Fast and easy to make. I plan to make more! Next I am going to try making them out of a woven fabric, with the wide leg, adjusting for ease and adding an invisible side zipper…Loose and breeze for summer.
Slinky lycra knit I found on sale. These pants cost me just $4.50!

Your pants look so comfy! Did you use a serger or standard machine for these? I’d love to try the pattern, but don’t have a serger…

I’m a burda novice, and can’t for the life of me find the pattern for these yoga pants??

I love these too. The wide leg makes them. Did you ever get a chance to measure how much you added to the leg seam?

Sure, Anna! I started the taper at the hip point and widened down to the ankle. I added just a few inches to each leg seam at the bottom, (I can check how much, I don’t remember), and just a few inches at each seam adds quite a bit in total once the seams come together. I can try to turn the pattern into a pdf, it might take me a bit, but it would be fun to try. I made a size 40.

I just love these pants! I have been wanting to make wide-leg pants for a long while but never found the perfect ones! Where did you widen the legs from to make them wide-leg?? Could you give me some tips?
