The pattern is called ‘Henry shirt’, one of the pattern from ‘Sewing for Boys’ book by Shelly Figueroa and Karen LePage.
It looks like a simple shirt in a glance, but a closer look reveals more details like the wide pockets, the sleeves and back yoke, and the all-in-one collar. Instead of using fabric with different pattern, I placed the corduroy in different direction to create a subtler texture. I love it!

i want one too! i love how the design is not as simple as it looks and how you changed the direction of the corduroy for interest.

again an adorable piece and i want a shirt just like this :-) . your little boy looks so happy and proud with it. that must be very nice for you to see, how much he loves, what you created for him!
