This is the bow-tied blouse from Gertie’s New Book for Better Sewing and the skirt is based on a tutorial I found online. You can read more about the process at my blog: http://poldapop.blogspot.com/2012/10/how-much-coral-is-too-much-coral.html

Very glamorous! Beautiful colours which really suit you and so well made! I just got the book, so I may be copying your colour scheme…! :)

You will LOVE the book. Some of the techniques I found difficult to follow but there was always a tutorial on her blog to supplement the book (and sometimes even a video – yes!). I’m working on her pencil skirt now – almost finished. What are you going to make first?

Hurray for videos! I’ve spent most of the time reading (and laughing to myself – Gertie is very funny!) the techniques bit because I’m a bit of a geek and find it relaxing… I think I will make either the A line skirt with pintucks or the dropped waist dress first, but it all depends what I find in the shops… How did the pencil skirt work out? I’m sure it looks great!
