Description

This is Simplicity 1779 I love the contrast on this pattern, simple straight forward, classic.
I fell in love with this fabric ohhh4 years ago and it has been sitting in my stash waiting for a project. I believe this is a polyester but there was no label (however I am guessing you don’t buy silk for $4 a yard even on the clearance table). So polyester charmeuse, I had some trouble with the needle snagging the fabric, especially around the sleeves. I am unsure of the reason, I used a light weight brand new needle, any ideas? Perhaps it needs to be light weight and extra sharp? (I love this type of fabric so any ideas as to the problem would be awesome to help me in the future.)

The pattern is novice but my fabric was not. I am glad the pattern was a simple one because the fabric was kind of a pain to work with. The pattern had to be cut out just so, and I had to pin, and pin and pin EVERYTHING. I am please with the result, even though the process was a bit tedious.

I hope you enjoy!

P.S. If you do want to use this pattern beware the neck line without the bow is a bit low.

Gorgeous top, the coral looks great with the black. I have the same problems with this type of fabric, it drapes well so I do love it when It’s finished just not during lol. ironing out puckers Isn’t much fun lol x

What a beautiful blouse! I love the contrast of colors and it looks very nice on you :) I think you have the right solutions; light weight needle, but I would prefer for jersey.
