Very Loose Dress with Hi – Lo profile – One of the things that I love about sewing is that it gives me the courage to try a dress like this! …. but I love it and can’t wait to sew up the real version with the pockets and sash!

Okay, now if this is the muslin…I can’t imagine what the real deal will look like! This dress POPS! It’s chic and trendy but you’ve managed to maintain an element of elegance with your styling! I love it!

      LoL Godsgirlt,
Thanks! Between you and me (and anyone else who is reading) It did not start out as a muslin…just sort of became one when I realized how much I loved the color of the fabric….but hated the fabric itself. This dress deserves better fabric I think.

      Thanks Mary,
It is actually MCCalls from their fashion star line. I agree with you on the modern part. My favorite part is the side profile and back. There is a sash that goes through side seams around back and ties in the front (leaving the back panel vent free and ) that would make the dress more interesting from the front. Since I wast testing it for fit and feedback I didn’t bother with the sash or the pockets.

      Georgiet,

Thank you for the complement ….. it brightened my day. The final version (s) will most likely be for the fall so it may be a few weeks before I get back to it. But I promise to post the results.

      Kisses,

Thank you, with this dress, I am trying something different, stepping out of my comfort zone. I wanted it to be wearable so that I could give it a test run last night. I almost gave it up but I am glad that I saw it through. I really like it.

I love very very much the color on you and the high-low hem is flattering for your legs! Was it a test garment?? It’s very pretty! I also love your jewellery!!

      Thanks liliv,
the jewelry was a gift from dear friend who knows what I would like
Interestingly the hemline from the side and back are my favorite part of this dress. It is definitely a “wearable” test garment. It is a new style for me so I dressed it up and wore it out last night just to see what reaction I would get if any….

I like it! The color is beautiful too. What color and material is the fabric for the “real” thing?

      Thanks Frederi,

According to the pattern, this can be made in either woven or stretch … so I have two fabrics in mind. A teal gaberdine and possibly a grey stretch. *both for the fall.
