Description

This dress is Butterick 4790 which is retro ’52 dress.It is a sheath-and-overskirt look dress, which is very pretty and nice, however; you do run into the problem of the dress separating whilst you walk.
I made it out of cotton and contrast bias tape which I like because it is very easy to do.
This is a dream dress and I will be making more!!!
The only alteration I made was to take in the front bodice and add a bow.

    Thanks for the idea of the pleats in the front. I’ve been stewing over how to fix this dress without ripping all of the bias tape out and starting over, and your idea may have saved the day! Thanks again!

    Did you put the bow on to fix the wonky neckline? I made this dress as well and I had to put a pleat in the back to take in the neck because it was huge. P.S. I really love the colors you used, very sweet!

      Yeah, the neckline was really wonky so I pleated the front and then added a bow to cover it.
