i actually first saw this dress on twobirds bridesmaid, and thought “hmm..there must be a way for me to make this dress..”
months later, i stumbled upon scriptandserif’s tutorial about how to make this very dress :D must be fate.
so, here’s my attempt on making the infamous convertible dress (using normal sewing machine, btw, since i don’t have a serger).
i looooove it, and will prolly make more using other colours & possibly print patterns :)
more than 3 meters of some stretch fabric (i dunno what it’s called! sorry..), which i bought for only 6 euros since they said there’re some production errors on it (not that i can see any error on it myself ;D)

Thanks so much for uploading this. I was looking for a cheaper alternative for my bridesmaids to what was available in retail stores (or even worse, bridal stores) when I saw the two birds dress I loved it, but again the price tag was not exactly impressive. Your pattern means I can now spend literally a tenth of the money that I was going to. And it’s lovely to be able to say that I made my bridesmaids dresses! This is the first item of clothing I have ever made and it turned out brilliantly! Thank you so much!

thanks all for the nice comments! :)
polychromatin, it really depends on your own height, i think, and also how long you want the straps to be. the original dress was said to have straps the length of 1.5 times your own height, and mine turned up to only have 1.2 length of my height :p (my height = 163 cm) oh, and i used around 1.2 meters already for the full circle skirt, which explains why i was only left with less than 2 meters for the straps. so i guess it also depends on what kind of skirt & how long you want it to be :) hope that helps!

This is co cool! The color is beautiful and the dress is stunning! But do one really need more than 3 meters fabric? I have some jersey fabric perfect for this dress, but only 2 meters.
