My 1st dress ever. It was tricky and simple at the same time. It took 2 seams. I didn’t hem the bottom because it looks fine as is. I used a straight stitch on my sewing machine which worked well (I don’t have a serger).
Something Stretchy. About 3.5 yards.

Gorgeous dress! I hate stretchy materials, I can’t make out anything of it! :)

Anwhidden, I didn’t do anything special measurement or cutting wise to the back of the dress. Because I’m so tall (5’11") I cut the circle skirt as long as my piece of fabric would allow because I was concerned that it was going to be too short, but it came out fine. The only thing I could suggest is to try and cut the skirt as long as possible and then hem it. It’s all the way to my knee, and I’d actually like it to be a bit shorter:)

Your dress is amazing! Once I get down to my target weight, I am going to start wearing my dresses like that.

It seems as though some people have had trouble with the hem of their circle skirt being shorter at the back (because of the fabric having to go over the behind) but your dress doesn’t seem to have that problem at all. Did you do something in your measurements or cutting to overcome this issue?

I love the way the fabric falls down – it reminds me of a waterfall. You have a great figure and the dress fits you perfectly. You should be proud with your creation!
